Troy + Elizabeth : Schaumburg Engagement

Happy Thursday, friends!! Brett and I are so excited to share the engagement pictures of our amazing 2020 couple, Elizabeth and Troy!

When we first met them I looked at Troy and the first thing I said was, “Wow, you’re so tall!!” Immediately, I regretted stating the obvious. Troy was a good sport and kinda laughed… like he hadn’t heard someone say that to him hundreds of times before! Troy serves in the military and Elizabeth is a dance instructor and model.

I will never forgot when Troy was telling us the moment he felt God tell him Elizabeth was the one for him. He was reading in his Bible and stopped in Ephesians, where he read the very famous passage. “ Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, His body, of which He is the Savior. In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.”

Troy said in that moment that passage hit him like a ton of bricks and he knew right then he was supposed to marry her! You guys!! I kid you not, I got so many goose bumps and chills when he told us that. What a sweet way for God to show Troy that she truly was the one God created for him!

The day of their engagement session arrived and we saw the forecast wasn’t great! We started their session in the “Streets of Schaumburg.” The crazy, wonderful thing was the rain let up 10 minutes before their session started!! It was still drizzling so we did pull out the umbrella, which strangely enough was the first engagement session we’ve had to use one. With the rain starting to end, we headed the Busse Wood. We were ecstatic to see that a few trees had held onto their leaves!!! Illinois in December can be very challenging as everything can look so dreary and dead! Adding some fun colors we finished up by these adorable canoes.

We could have spent all day with these two!! They were so much fun and such a delight to spend time with. We are counting down the days ‘til their April wedding!!
