We had the privilege of driving up to Chicago for this lovely couple’s engagement session. Chicago has always been very special to us. Brett grew up in the Northwestern suburb of Crystal Lake. Also, Brett spent his college years at Columbia College, right off of Michigan Avenue, across from Grant Park. What a truly beautiful location for an engagement session!
Anna and Cooper were so relaxed during the entire session. Right when we met up on Michigan Avenue, we knew this was an awesome couple. I knew Anna back from CNA class years ago. How far we have come since that class! Brett is introverted and can be pretty conservative when meeting someone for the first time. It is completely different when he meets a Chicago Sports fan. For those of you who may not know. Brett is a diehard Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan. Anna is a big Cubs fan, Cooper is a fan of the White Sox. Brett had a lot of fun during their session giving Cooper a lot of grief for loving the White Sox. Don’t worry Cooper, at least you aren’t a Cardinals fan so we still love you haha.
Something that is always special about photographing couples, and thats the way the guy looks at the love of his life. Just look at the way Cooper looks at Anna. Brett makes the same face when he looks at me….and when he looks at Lou Malnati’s deep dish pizza.
We were a little worried about the wind when we first met up with Anna and Cooper. It was super windy right when we parked our car, but these two had no problem with a little wind and cold. They are also from Chicago, so this was just another day in the city.
Luck was definitely on our side as the leaves were still on the trees and very bright, beautiful colors. The cold kept the tourists away from the lake front, which let Anna and Cooper have the park all to themselves. We finished their photo session along the lake front by the Shedd Aquarium. The blustery winds would not hold you two back at all, you guys did so great! We can’t wait for your wedding day next June, it is going to get here so fast. So lets sit back and think about how warm it is going to be on that gorgeous day to help us get through this long winter!
